Seriously the time is flying by! I can't believe I am in the 5th week of my first transfer back! I am now 7 months into my mission.
Anyways, to start off the week, on Tuesday I went on exchanges. My temporary companion was Elder Tafur from Peru! He is super funny and is a maniac on the futbal concha! We did some serious work together. We found a bunch of new investigators and just all together accomplished a lot. Exchanges are awesome because you always learn so much! I realized from being with Elder Tafur that we hardly ever contact people. One thing I learned in my previous life as a missionary is that if you want to baptize a lot, you have to talk a lot!
The exchange kind of made me wish I had a Latin companion but then I remembered Elder Acevedo and I love him so much! He is seriously so funny! We had a successful week! We are teaching two girls Andrea and Gabi Delgado! At first we were super weirded out by them because they are pretty weird. Honestly I wasn't sure if they were all there. I still am not really sure but they are proving themselves slowly. They have now come to church twice and the second time one of their brothers tagged along! we gave them homework the other day to answer the questions in the back of the pamphlet we left with them. For each question there are about 3 lines to write your answer. Andrea found that it wasn't enough for her paragraph long answers!!! She had written a page and a half by the time she was done! As we approached their house on Sunday to pick them up for church we found all 3 of them waiting on the curb for us! They have such desires and are such a blessing to us!
My comp and I had such a break through with one of the other girls we are teaching! At first when we taught her she did not get anything. She would begin to understand something and then would just say something that destroyed any and all hope! Over the past couple of weeks we kept on inviting her to pray and ask if she would continue to listen to us and finally this last Wednesday she told us she received an answer! Finally! She found her answer on Facebook haha. She said she was scrolling down her profile page and saw that she had liked a Mormon Facebook page but she said she had never seen it before! That was such a miracle for us! We are working hard but sometimes it feels like we are hardly working! I love this place and I love these people! I know I am here for a reason and am so grateful to bear the name of Christ on my chest again!
Con mucho amor,
Elder McKee
