Spencer's Take 2, Semana 10

This week was quite honestly one huge disappointment! Last week I wrote, I told you all about the huge group of investigators. This week I write, telling you all about how the huge group took a huge nose dive for the ground! I have no idea what happened. One example is a young couple we were teaching named Jose and Carla. They were sooo amazing! Jose always asked us the best questions. Solely from his questions you could feel his desire to learn about Christ and His gospel! Then there was his girlfriend Carla. Carla had desires to follow Jesus because she knew it would help her be the example that she will need to be as her baby daughter Sofia grows up. Seriously they were golden! They came to church, met with us several times each week, noticed a change in their life already, noticed the blessings and everything! They were progressing sooooo well! Over night they seemed to lose interest! It sucks soooo bad! The same thing has happened with everyone! We are left with a few but even they have not come to church for a couple of weeks and have basically stopped reading the Book of Mormon.

What happened with them just goes to show how easily it is to lose your way and forget about the things that are important! Each and everyone of us is weak! we are nothing with out the guidance of our Heavenly Father. If we stop studying the scriptures, praying, and go to church, how easy it is for us to lose our selves! I have a firm testimony that it is within the small things that we will build ourselves upon the foundation of Christ! Just as 2 Nephi 31:11,12, and 13 teach us, if we do not build our selves upon the rock (Gospel of Christ) we will fall and the gates of hell will be open waiting for us!!!! Deep and quite severe but no joke! Everytime I read that verse I think about that anchor man quote,"Well that escalated quickly!"

Sunday was a relaxing but sad sad day! we were advised by our mission president to stay inside the whole day to avoid danger due to the World Cup crowd! Soooo we went to church, ate lunch with a member and quickly ran to our apartment where we stayed the whole day and watched movies and opened up figurita stickers to put in our world cup album books. Sadly as I'm sure you all know, Argentina lost!!!!!!!!!!!!     :,(  I'm currently in a deep depression as is the rest of Argentina!

Today was crazy also. We played soccer in the morning as always. Elder Dawson ran in the top left corner trying to receive a pass. He ran so fast that he couldn't stop before  he hit the fence which he body slammed! I knew he hit it hard but I couldn't imagine what happened next! He walked away like nothing had happened! He sat down because he hit his hip. Once he got to the ground I watched his head whip back, his eyes roll into the back of his head, and he started shaking!!!!! He passed out!!!!! It was the craziest knock out I have ever seen in my life! My eagle scout instincts kicked in soooo fast! I had his legs in the air faster than you can say supercalifragilisticexpialadocious! Well, that's my story for  you! I love you! pray for us that we can find new investigators!!!!

Con mucho amor,
Elder McKee

The first photo is of me and Elder Dawson with a random guy cheering in the streets after Argentina won their semi finals game. And the second photo is of me demonstrating how empty the streets were on Sunday during the championship game!!!!
