Spencer's Take 2, Semana 14

Monday, August 11, 2014

This week was another success!!! Everyday I grow to love Elder Reynolds more and more! This time around the whole training thing is going a whole lot better! I owe a lot of the success I'm having with the training of Elder Reynolds to Elder Acevedo. He taught me in such a subtle, quiet manner that I don't even know if he was trying to teach me! He taught me purely from his example and I grew to appreciate everything he did through his small acts of love and charity! I am trying my best to apply what I learned from elder Acevedo to the growing of little Elder Reynolds!

Elder Reynolds teaches me something new every single day. He is so in tune with the Spirit that when he teaches you can feel it in the air! We had a lesson the other day with our investigator Nicole whom is going to be baptized this weekend. We taught the importance of scripture study and prayer. When Elder Reynolds added his comments about his experiences with prayer it inspired me to better my prayers and to make them more sincere. He spoke about how he loves the opportunity that he has every night to pray to his Heavenly Father. He talked about his prayers as if every time he prays he has a conversation with his Father in Heaven whom he knows so closely! I want that. My goal this week is to pray with more heart and more connection with God.

Our goal for the week was to set more baptismal dates, and set baptismal dates is what we did! With lots or hard work and the help of  the Lord we committed 7 people to baptism and if all goes according to plan they will all be this month! Today we played soccer with some of the members and we played gringos vs. latinos and we freaking won!!!!

It was a really  hot day today. Winter is ending here so it is starting to warm up little by little! I LOVE THE MISSION!!!

On Sunday I taught the gospel principles class with Elder Contreras. We taught about work and personal responsibilities. We talked a lot about how the outlook we have on everything can make it or break it! I shared with everyone how there are times in the mission when I just wonder to myself,"What am I doing?". Every time I ask myself that, all I have to do is think about the mountains of blessing that are promised for me! Ex: dog bit me? That's okay! My wife just got a little bit more beautiful!!!! haha. Once again, I love the mission! If you have never tried it, I highly recommend it! ;P

I love you all sooooo much. thanks for everything!

Con mucho amor,
Elder McKee

p.s. sorry there won't be any photos today because my computer has no USB ports!!!
