Wowwww!!! This week has been crazy! So Elder Munoz is gone and I miss the little guy! He got called to be a district leader in Pharr TX. My new companion got here and he is so different than Elder Munoz! His name is Elder McConnell! So there are 2 Mc's in Del Mar area!!! He is a big guy and when I say big I mean gordito and when I say gordito I mean 270lbs!!!!! What?!?!?!? Big dude! He has so many ties! I gave him one of my nicest ties to him in hopes of getting a gift tie in return but no dice :'( The guy is a food appoinment magnet! I swear people look at him and just assume that he is probably hungry and invite us over to eat! I'm not mad about that at all though :P We have had some seriously awesome success so far! We met almost all of our goals and have 4 new investigators! I reallllly hope that two of them, the Cocio family, progresses because they are a cute little family and baptizing families is the best thing ever from what I hear! But I can understand why it is so awesome :)
I got a letter......
Dear Elder McKee:
Visa Status
Thank you for your diligent service in the Texas McAllen Mission. We know that, during this time of
waiting, you have gained valuable experience in faith, knowledge, and perseverance that will help you feel the blessings of our Heavenly Father in your work. The people you are working with are truly blessed because of your service.
We continue to work through established procedures to obtain your visa to Argentina. Church Travel
tracks the progress of your visa, is in regular contact with the consulate of Argentina, and receives
on-going updates as to your visa status. Your current mission president will be notified as soon as your visa is granted.
May the Lord bless you as you continue to focus in your current assignment and strive to reach out to
those who are seeking the truth.
Sincerely,
Eduardo Gavarret
Assistant Executive Director
FREAK YA!!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE IS HOPE!!!!
I think I came to Loredo to find my career! Being a border patrol agent would be so sick!!! They make bank too. That is like top 2 on my list right now for considered careers :)
Thanks family for the package! I am super excited to look at all those little teaching tools! That cereal.... I buy that stuff every week haha! I guess that's one less thing I have to buy today? Oh and were the peeps shriveled up when you bought them? :D
We had a really good lesson with Sister Sotos' husband this week!
We had guest appearances by the Alvarez couple who are the senior missionaries here in Loredo! They are BEASTS. Bro alvarez was a member of the 70 and was president of that school in Mexico which is now the MTC! He is just a boss. I don't have the words to stress how awesome he is! My Spanish is coming along great! I get compliments a lot! haha I'm not sure if those are sincere or if they are lying to me to boost my confidence? haha No but seriously I feel pretty good with the language! At least missionary Spanish ahaha!
I love you all so much! I had such a sweet experience reading this morning! I was reading out of the Ensign a talk from last general conference and the stuff I read addressed exactly what I was thinking about! I love when little things happen like that! I know that they are not just coincidences! The Lord knows each one of us individually and knows our struggles as well. He wants us to be happy and He knows that this gospel is the only way someone in this earth can obtain true happiness!
Thanks for the love and prayers! Keep them coming they seem to be working! My visa is making progress! PRAY FOR ME TO GET MY VISA!!!
I love you all so much. cant say it enough!
Con mucho amor,
Elder Spencer McKee
