This week has been a rough one! A couple of weeks ago I could have told you without a doubt that all ten of the investigators that we had were going to get baptized. Today we have basically 0 investigators progressing. It has been a really tough week. I really hope this new week is better! We need to find people with desires.
It is our last week in the transfer and it is almost certain Elder Acevedo will be leaving me. I'm sad but I'm also crossing my fingers that I get a Latin companion! I need to get my Spanish mastered!!!!!
Yesterday we had the funniest thing happen to us! Elder Acevedo and I were out doing our usual. We knocked the door of a member's house and out of no where the tallest, drunkest, Argentine I have ever seen in my life got all up in our face! He began to demand that we teach him about life and so we kindly obliged. Anyway this encounter with Jorge the friendly drunk giant slowly evolved into him using me and Elder Acevedo as a jungle gym which then progressed into him allowing me to touch his truck as he confessed his love for me and then it finally ended with us embracing each other as he snuck in a couple of peck gropes and cheek kisses!!!! hahaa I seriously couldn't handle myself I was laughing sooooo hard!
On Saturday we did some pretty fun service! a member had us cut down an enormous tree!!!! I climbed up and cut the huge branches as the others pulled on it by a rope! I felt like a professional tree cutter that day! What should have been a seriously dangerous job actually turned out to be super successful!
I just read Jonah's mission call!!!! That is sooooo awesome! I called it! My brother is going to speak Spanish!!!!!! Wahooo!!!! My zone leader here is from Tegucigalpa! He said his dad told him about how a big group of North Americans went through and did medical service! So chances are mom and Jonah met my zone leader's dad! I'm soooo stoked for Jonah! I admit, I got a little teary eyed when I read it! That is soooo amazing!
This week has been a tough one. I wish I was in a position to tell about all of the miracles but I'm not. Although it is really hard, whenever I feel down all I need to do is think about Joseph Smith. He went through trials a million times harder and worse than those that I'm passing. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us. I love Mosiah 24: 13-14. The Lord promises us that in our times of affliction He will lift our burdens and will be at our side!!!! What a promise. He loves us sooo much! One thing that is awesome is that it doesn't say that He will take away our pain or make the trials go away, He just says that He will make the burdens light and will help us through! Les quiro muchisimo!!!
Con muchisimo amor,
Elder McKee
