Mi Ultimo Semana en la CCM

It is finally time! I had been waiting forever to receive word of my visa or at least a reassignment! It was rough not knowing what was being done with me! Everyone in the district had already received word that they had their visa or at least were notified of being reassigned except for me and Elder Cowan! The whole time I said if I do end up getting a transfer then I hope it is somewhere where there are a lot of Spanish speakers! Last night as we were leaving dinner on our way to check the mail box I yelled out jokingly,"IM TRYNA GO TO TEXAS!!!!!" then what do ya know..... Elder Unguez so graciously bestowed apon us our travel plans to McAllen Texas!!!!! I keep hearing it is right by the Mexican border!!! My prayers have been answered! I am so excited to serve the people of McAllen! My prayers now have two bodies of people being prayed for! I seriously cannot stress how excited I am to get out of here! The MTC is amazing but I am ready to leave! My appetite for food is non existent! Change is needed! Oh yeah and Elder Cowan is coming to the same mission as me! So that's pretty cool! I head out Monday from Salt Lake to Dallas then from Dallas to McAllen!!!! So that's exciting!

It has been a long week! I got to host again which was fun but I couldn't find Garrett which was a bummer but it's all good because he is in my residence on the floor above me! I have received so much love from my friends and family lately! I received a bunch of letters on Tuesday from Jonah, Lexie, mom and dad! That was fun to read! Sounds like Lexie had an interesting experience at the temple! I got packages from Grandma McKee, Lexie and Karen! I have so much food on my desk it's not even funny! It would be physically impossible to eat it all with the little time I have!!! Thank you all so much! I am so grateful for all the love and support! Your mail has been a highlight of the MTC!

A running trend this week in class has been about becoming disciples of Christ. I really got to thinking about this one so here it goes. Our purpose on this earth is to become disciples of Christ. Well, how then, do we become disciples of Christ????  Well that my friends is by reading and learning the teachings of Jesus Christ and then applying them to our lives!!!!!! Sometimes I think we forget about this purpose. We take the scriptures for granted and don't read them as we should! I am personally guilty of this because before I came on my mission I hardly read the scriptures, and it was a good day when I remembered to pray once! I have a testimony that our purpose on this life is to become disciples of Christ! Read the scriptures, apply the teachings to your lives and keep on keeping on! Or in other words, ENDURE TO THE END! Another way we come to be disciples of Christ is by #1, being baptized in His name. Before I got here I hated how missionaries so aggressively drop baptismal invites. Now that I am here I know that I was silly for thinking that. Inviting someone to be baptized is not asking someone to become Mormon. It is asking someone if they would like to follow the example of Jesus Christ and begin traveling the path to eternal glory!!!! It is also important to involve Heavenly Father in our lives. He loves to hear from you and is anxiously waiting to help you through your trials! This mission experience is one huge test of faith. With faith all things are possible. I know that because of my faith, my life has been heavily blessed. I know that our Savior, Redeemer, and brother Jesus Christ lives. Our Father in Heaven lives and desires that all of us return to His presence again. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
