Well I am beginning to think I am the worst missionary in the whole world. I have had no success at all it seems like! Our district leader calls us every other night and pretty much jacks our faces because we just suck and Heavenly Father hates us and is unpleased with our efforts!
I am convinced that I came to Loredo so I could find my career! There is this brother here and he is sooooo cool! I just want to be this guy for reals. He is like a Latino Justin Timberlake/James Bond!!!!! He is a special operations agent for the border patrol and he makes bank!!! Chett!!! you and I are going to do this. I decided this is a better career choice than the narcotics dealing business!
We got a referral this week for a guy named Andy! He is a trip this guy! We had the appointment for 3 in the afternoon and as we walked to the door at 3 sharp he opened the door before I even knocked on it! So we sat down and just started to get to know him. He is 31, owns 8 businesses, is super successful, has biceps on top of his triceps, single, meditates for 80 hours a week, and am pretty sure he has a cocaine addiction! Okay so now you can get an idea of this guy... We start teaching and the lesson was just insane! We told him about the plan of salvation because he was initially interested in us because he heard about eternal families. All that we taught made perfect sense to him! A member that was at the lesson with us asked him in a really crazy point of our lesson that if he found our teachings to be true would he get baptized? He said yes but then he also listed off the many other churches he has been baptized in before. We texted him the other night to remind him to read and he said, "I meditated on it. No reading yet. Physical in my world is second. Temples exist in each one of us. The physical temple is only a reflection of our own holy spirit. This has been told to me from above. I'll keep you updated on my progress! I feel then read. Otherwise we lose our hearts in the process!" yeah......... He is pretty cool I guess you could say!
I love you all! Please pray for all the missionaries around the world!
Con mucho amor,
Elder Spencer McKee
