Hola loved ones!
Este semana estuvo re bien! Yo aprendo mucho espanol todo el dia, todos los dias! Tengo dos maestros pero me gusta hermano mecham mas. my companion and I have started teaching two new investigators (who are really just out teachers acting) whose names are Mario and Toby! Even though they are pretend investigators I still get really frustrated with Toby! He is already a really strong christian but just doesn't understand why he needs another scripture when he has the bible. He never keeps his commitments to follow through on assignments and just will not cooperate. It's crazy how frustrated I get by a pretend person!
I have received so much mail from you all this week! I received a box full of peeps, letters, and bandages for my road rash from my parents. Even though I didn't have use for the bandages anymore I still appreciated it :D I also received a box of cinnamon rolls from Grandma McKee I think, that we as a district destroyed for family home evening! I also got a box from Aunt Karen with a letter, an entire chocolate cake, chips, and drinks which we enjoyed on Sunday (cinco de mayo) along with chips and salsa that Elder Urrutia got! Karen sent me another package. Also this week I received news of Lexie's mission call! The Philippines!?!? I am still laughing! What an experience that will be!
The funniest thing that happened this week happened as me and the other elders in my district were walking to class. As we were walking a Frisbee rolled across the walking path with its owner chasing not too long behind. The owner then picked it up and chucked the Frisbee as hard as he could and it went probably about 5 ft until it smacked into a pole. Elder Colbert was standing right beside where the Frisbee landed. He picked it up and threw it as hard as he could with the intentions of it going to some elders across the courtyard. Elder Colbert let go of the Frisbee a little late and it went straight for the roof of the nearest building! At this point all of us are just watching, Our hearts stopped, jaws dropped to the floor while we watched the end of this Frisbee's existence. By some miracle the Frisbee dives down in the right direction, barely clips the edge of two roof platforms and floats into the hands of the elders far away from us! We laughed about that for the rest of the day! It was so funny.
I just got done going to the temple. It is so nice to get out of the MTC for that short while. The best part part of going to the temple besides the Spirit there is the cafeteria!!!! Going from eating food in the MTC to eating temple cafeteria food is almost enough to kill a man! The food is the best I have ever had besides my mom's cooking of course!
I had a crazy experience with prayer this week! I prayed to Heavenly Father that I would have a humbling experience and I received just that! Our first lesson with Toby went pretty bad and then just as I thought it couldn't get worse it did! I was so discouraged yet humbled after leaving that lesson. I know that God is real and that He hears and answers our prayers! I love and miss you all so much! Thank you for all the mail! I can't even express how much it means to me when I hear from you! Keep writing and sending! The church is true!
con mucho amor,
Elder McKee
