Jonah's Week 22 - What I've learned So Far

Monday, March 30, 2015

Okay, well first, the question of the day! WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ON YOUR MISSION THAT HAS CHANGED YOU OR A VIEW POINT THAT YOU HAVE HAD FOREVER?

For me this is my answer:

In the mission you have the amazing opportunity to meet tons of people from all different walks of life and all different parts of the world! I have learned one thing, there is one thing that is the same for every person that you come to know, it is that they each have problems. Some people have problems worse than others and some people have problems that really aren't problems but to this person, in this specific moment, their problems feel like they are the worst thing in this world!! I have learned that everybody in this earth just needs to learn to listen. Everybody in this world needs to listen to the voice of the world and look around. We all feel like our problems are the worst problems a person can possibly have but if everybody would just take a step back and listen to another person they would realize that their problems aren't any worse than the problems of the next person! This world at times feels like it's a huge place because there is a lot of stuff that we don't know but to be honest the world isn't a big place and we all are family! Take a second and listen to the stories of your brothers and sisters in the world! The stories you will hear will make the world feel smaller and on top of that the stories will make you realize there is always a following page to every life story! Always continue with two things in mind: service and then what you want the next page in the book of your life to say!

So yeah, with that all in mind here I am and I'm ready to report what the most recent entry in the book of my life says! So yeah, this week the work was slow but it was still work none the less! We have been doing a whole lot of contacting trying to create a big pool of investigators but that requires a lot of walking and on top of that a lot of talking and my comp doesn't really like to contact so normally I have to be the one who opens my mouth and introduces us and what our purpose is, after that he is fine with talking but he can't start the conversation ever! But it's fine because you all know I am a very confident young man and I have zero problems opening my mouth!

So yeah, this week we did a ton of contacting in the street! (if there is a child reading this part then sensor it) So I was contacting and talking to this girl who is 31 years old and I was telling her who I am, why I'm here, and what I believe in, then I passed our number and a picture of Christ to her. I went to shake her hand and while my hand was extended she went and grabbed a whole handful of the family jewels and then said, sensational right? I felt my face burning red!! I have never been so violated before in my life!! I couldn't even handle it! To make things even better, I was at the house of one of my investigators teaching and in the middle of the lesson the same girl that tried to run off with the family jewels walked into the room and asked what I was doing. I told her I was here teaching Javier and then she turned to her nephew and said, why didn't you ever tell me you had such a beautiful friend!?!?! haha I was ready to die!! I then stopped and invited her to listen to a message and we began to teach chastity! I'm not sure if she understood because when we were leaving she was really anxious to know when I would be back to talk to her again!! haha My comp and I left and started to die of laughter! She is 31 and she knows I'm only 19! haha Freaking cougar!! But yeah I dunno what I need to do about all that but it's fine I'll just keep my distance! And also I'll probably have to invest in some cougar repellent or something like that!

So yeah!! That was my best/craziest story of the week! Maybe I'll have more later but for now this is all I have! haha so yea! Love you all!

Also I want to invite you all to use youtube and look up the video  HE LIVES it's super good and it's super inspiring!

always,
Elder Jonah McKee
